I cannot believe that it is quarter after 8... and I'm thinking about getting to bed soon... what is wrong with me?

ALright, this is my narrative!!

Paintings (Ink + Acrylic)

so, it's been a while since my last post, alas.

I will be getting work back from teachers in the new year, I hadn't thought to take photo's of it before I handed them in...
Also my batteries died.
I Tried, just today, Chalk pastel on Wood, and I really liked how it turned out, so there may be some more of that in the future.

Night + Scratch Board + Regina

I was going home one night. It had just been raining and the annie smith building was really beautiful.

These are the first two of four scratch board assignments. It's a really interesting medium actually, but It's very time consuming and tedious. it's pretty rewarding though.

We (Jen and I) went to see Regina Spektor, she is an angel, and her voice is like slik in my ears. So we drew her a picture, it was a really good time. I drew the owl, jen did everything else.

get movin'

man, all my arty muscles are having a bit of a muscle spasm, I'm not sure if I'm getting tired, or don't want to actually do any work. My sketch book is filling but my homework is becoming stagnant.

Craft fair

a wonderful crafty time, also went to Nuit Blanch, it was a good time!! Made some soap (CHAI and CUCUMER MELON). I think I will be exploiting this new venue much more in the future.

Sketch Book? or Summer Love?

I have over the summer discovered what an emense joy it is to draw something (not even a good something most of the time) every single day. I find it relaxes me, makes me feel glad about being a visual person. I sometimes feel as if I encounter a lot of "visual information" over the course of a day and when I am able to spew a bit out onto paper it makes me rest a little better.
Scribbling, doodling, making a mess and just looking around.

Summer

I had a very good summer, but I'm very much looking forward to the up comming school year!

Grad show + Moving day

These pictures are in a weird order, the first is from the Illustration Grad Show "Headlines", that I went to yesterday. It was amazingly inspiring. It's what I want to do. I was having some doubts (as I'm sure many people do when pursuing a career) and going to the grad show was a validation of why I'm going to Sheridan. I LOVE IT! Sheridan is home to me.

The second picture is from moving day, I was crammed into the van, sardine style. Groceries, drafting table, hampers, boxes and reems of art.

And the final picture is of the grad show again. It was packed, so hard to move around in because people were always stopping to look at things and talk to people. Did I mention that it was awesome? .....It was awsome.

distracted and amused

I'm not exactly sure I like the idea that I should be writing an essay right now. so... I'm not. Honestly though, 10 pages is a little bit much. esspecially when I don't love my topic. I just want to draw and listen to music.

So excited, next year is going to be so new and different I'm really pumped to see what is in store for us.

So this is my first post, I hope there can be many many more and that by starting this blog at the near end of my first year at sheridan illustration my progress will be showcased.
